Blockchain.com has obtained a Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) license from the Maltese Financial Services Authority (MFSA), enabling the company to operate across 30 European Economic Area (EEA) nations. The license covers custody and wallet services, with plans to expand into institutional offerings like treasury management. This positions Malta as a strategic hub amid ongoing EU regulatory debates.

Fiorentina D’Amore, chairperson of the Financial Institutions Malta Association (FIMA), has been appointed to lead Blockchain.com's EU strategy as senior director of EU business operations and CEO of Blockchain.com Malta. D’Amore brings experience from Bitpanda and eToro, signaling the company's commitment to regional growth and regulatory alignment.
